The Menard Group USA team convened in beautiful & historic Wilmington, North Carolina, on Wednesday, March 7, to STEP UP for our Annual Safety Meeting! This event brings together our talented team—everyone from accountants and laborers to engineers and operators—with the unified goal of making us the safest company in our business!
On the first day, our entire Field and Shop crew met at our nearby Leland Shop for specialized sessions to become "Safety Certified" on important techniques like rig assembly, aerial lift and skid steer operation, and rough terrain forklift training.
While the crew was getting Safety Certified, our Engineers and Office team were also hard at work- comparing project planning styles, hearing about "A Day in the Life", learning CPR/AED and using improvisation with Nancy Watt Communications to understand how to communicate with each other better.
But it wasn't all training and meeting for the MeNERDs! This group DOES know how to have fun!
Thursday evening, the Leland Shop hosted the entire group, their families & guests for a true Southern BBQ, featuring down-home cooking like ribs, corn on the cob and macaroni & cheese, and a live country band was on site to provide the appropriate background music.
Friday evening, everyone gathered again for the Safety Gala- which always involves great food & cocktails, questionable karaoke choices and the opportunity to recognize some of our MeNERDs for their amazing actions and innovative ideas from the past year!
The coveted Safety Boot Award was given to Superintendent Brian Parker, and many others collected special awards for Safety, Client Care and Innovation.
Finally, before leaving the southern hospitality of Wilmington, MeNERDs had the option to go on a deep sea fishing trip or play a round of golf- safely, of course!
There are no upcoming events at this time. Please check back soon as something is always in the works!
